Lurgan minors put in a brilliant last quarter scoring a goal by star mid-fielder Stephen Monaghan and points by captain Mickie Keating, full forward Mark Heatherton and Adrian Cole to lift the Division 1 League Title for the second year in a row. Credit to all the players, manager Garry Farrelly and his mentors Dereck McDonald, Sean Cole and Lorcan Farrelly.

This Division 1 Minor League final was played in Mountnugent on Wednsday evening last 20th April 2005 at 7.00 PM. Lurgan were in control in the first half with county mid-fielder Stephen Monaghan scoring four points and James Lynch converting at the close of the half. Crosserlough scored three points in this period with county star Enda Gaffney to the fore with a couple of great scores. Credit must be given to Lurgan's young Raymond Farrelly who held this county minor star to just two points for the hour.

The second period saw Crosserlough make a great start with three brilliantly taken points to level the scoring on forty-five minutes. A high speculative ball from Crosserlough midfielder D Lynch caught the Lurgan goalkeeper Vincent Reilly out and ended up in the back of the net. It was here at this stage of the match that Lurgan dug deep and it was that man again Stephen Monaghan who worked the ball through a maze of defenders and rattled the crosserlough net on fifty minutes. Points from Mark Heatherton and Mickey Keating followed before Crosserlough replied with one of their own. Adrian Cole got the insurance point three minutes into extra time to the relief of the large Lurgan following present.
