Level Pegging in Ramor Park
Ramor Utd 0.10 Killygarry 0.10

Ramor United played host to Killygarry last Sunday afternoon in what turned out to be an enjoyable Division 1. Senior League and Junior A brace of matches. The sun shone brightly on Ramor Park setting a nice summer scene for both games.

The senior game was nip and tuck for the hour with never more than a couple of points separating the sides and ended predictably in a draw. Ramor will regret their wides tally particularly in the second half, which had they been converted would have won them the match. Killygarry on the other hand made use of their lesser percentage of possession and took their scores well to earn them a share of the points.

Anton Reilly opened the Ramor scoring with a point on three minutes. Stephen McGovern tied up the score-line and teamate Paddy Hyland edged the visitors ahead with a well-taken point. Shane Cole, Ronan Keating and Keith Soden restored the Ramor lead mid-way through the first half. Points from Hyland, Keaney, McGovern and a great effort by half back Declan Gallen who travelled the whole length of the field before pointing gave Killygarry the edge nearing half time. Keith Soden and Paddy McNamee pointed to leave the half time score line at six points apiece.

Ramor opened the second half brightly but a succession of wides at this time let the visitors off the hook. Having ridden the pressure it was Killygarry who opened the scoring with a point from corner forward Stephen McGovern after ten minutes.
Thomas Leonard, Killygarry's best forward in the second half scored the first of his three successful strikes mid way through the half. Barry Fitzsimons soloed from his own goal line to the Killygarry twenty-metre line to show the Ramor forwards how it's done and took his point magnificently. Ramor half-forward Keith Soden successfully converted a free kick on sixty minutes leaving the final score-line Ramor United 0.10 Killygarry 0.10.
