Ramor United back on winning form

Ramor United 2-14...................... Killeshandra 2-5

In a windy and cold Ramor park, the home side's speed and accuracy proved too much for a well motivated Killeshandra side in this division 2 encounter.

Ramor came out of the traps swiftly and raced into a 1-5 to 0-0 lead with two points from half foward Keith Soden followed by a point from Pauric Hughes, points each from Gareth Daly and Maurice Murphy and a well taken goal from Ronan Keating.

Killeshandra, as if stung by the intensity of the Ramor offensive, replied with a brilliant goal from M.Murphy and a point from Aidie Burns. Ramor finished the half strongly with two further points from Keith Soden and a point from Maurice Murphy. The half time score was Ramor 1-8, Killeshandra 1-1.

Killeshandra began the second half positively with points by Conor Shannon, M.Murphy and Justin Hayes. At this stage the supporters anticipated a close fought contest, but Ramor had other ideas.

Two points in rapid succession from Brian Brady and some expert defending by Philip Kermath, the solid Ramor center-half -back steadied the home side. Keith Soden converted a free to increase the Ramor lead.

One of the best moves of the game began by Niall McHugo to Keith Soden who in turn found Shane Cole. Shanes efford was saved by Killeshandra 'keeper Ollie Sheridan only to be finished to the net by Pauric Hughes.

Killeshandra did not lie down and Aidie Burns finished a good move with a shot to the net. The same player pointed after gaining possesion from the resulting kickout.

This score was the visitors last as sub Paddy McNamee shot two good points. A nice piece of combined play between Shane Cole and Keith Soden resulted in the last Ramor point being scored from a long way out by the latter.
