Baxter goals see Ballymachugh home

Ballymachugh
2-10
Ramor United
0-11

Ballymachugh remain unbeaten in the group stages of the SFC following their win over Ramor in Kilnaleck
It was man of the match Niall Baxter who got his side up and running with a point in the opening minute. With the scores tied at 2 points each Keith Soden scored a fine point to restore Ramor's lead, a lead which was stretched to two points by Brian Brady. Niall Baxter then capitalised in two defensive lapses by the Ramor rearguard in the 24th and 29th minutes to score two goals. Ballymachugh enjoyed a 2-4 to 0-6 lead at half time.
Ramor enjoyed much more possession on the restart and put their opponents under quite a considerable degree of pressure with points from Paddy McNamee, Ogie Farrelly and Peter Monaghan keeping the ramor lads well in contention.
However Ballymachugh finished the stronger of the two teams and they very nearly scored a third goal midway through the half but Ramor 'keeper Francis Conway tipped over a rasping shot from Niall Baxter over the bar at the expense of a point.
Ballymachugh then added further points from Finbar Sheridan and Richard Fitzsimons (2) in the closing minutes to leave Ballymachugh well poised in the group with three points after two games.
