| U-8 & U-10s Training is on Saturday mornings at 11am. Last Saturday Ramor U-8S and U-10s had a blitz with Crosserlough in Virginia. It was a very successful morning with up to 90 children togged out, displaying their newly acquired skills! Everyone enjoyed the games, including the many coaches, mentors and parents. Thanks to everyone involved .
U-12s; Ramor under 12s made the short journey to Fay Park in Ballyjamesduff to take on Castlerahan in the Division 1 league. It was a very entertaining game of football, with both sides battling hard. Ramor had the edge, going in at half time with a 2 point lead. It turned out to be a very one sided affair in the second half, with Ramor scoring 3-5 unanswered. They ran out easy winners on a scoreline of 3-9 to 0-2. There will be no league fixtures for a couple of weeks, challenge matches will be arranged, training as normal.
U-14s; Ramor U-14s took on Castlerahan at home on Tuesday evening last. It was a very competitive game right to the end, with both teams refusing to give in, and indeed it was quite physical at times. There were plenty of scores, some of them expertly taken, half time score was Ramor 4-5, Castlerahan, 3-6. The teams were level at one stage, , however, Ramor pulled ahead in the last ten minutes or so and won the game on a score of 7-11 to 6-10.
U-16s Ramor U-16s travelled to Rathluden Park, Kill to take on the amalgamation side Trinity Gaels. Conditions were extremely wet, leaving it a difficult game for all the players. Trinity Gaels were deservedly ahead by 5 points. at half time The team talk at half time must have done the trick, as Ramor turned the tables in the second half, winning the game by 6 points, on a score-line of 3-8 to 1-8. Their next game is against Casterahan this Wednesday, 7th, at 7.15 in Virginia.
Ramor Seniors and Juniors; Both Ramor teams took on Cootehill at home in their Div 2 and Div 5 league games on Friday and Saturday last. It was a good weekend for Ramor as both teams secured wins. Div. 2; Ramor 3-7, Cootehill 2-6. Div 5; Ramor 4-13, Cootehill 2-6. The Senior team have a 100% record in the league so far, and the Juniors havent been beaten either, having drawn their game against Knockbride. This weekends fixture is a double header in Drung on Saturday 10th May. Senior game at 6.30, Junior game at 8pm.
Congratulations to our Club Chairman Gene Clancy who married the lovely Marion last Friday! Wishing them both a long and happy life together. This happy event rounded off a very successful week for Ramor Utd!
